Designer Profile

Having served as co-director of CannonDesign’s Health Interiors Practice for over 20 years, Jocelyn remains a passionate advocate for the benefits of quality interior design in healthcare environments. Under her leadership, Cannon Design’s award-winning practice created thoughtful spaces that act as a canvas for human experiences. Throughout her career spanning over 40 years, she has been one of the industry’s most sought-after voices on design that advances and fosters health and wellness.

Jocelyn thrives on uniting the disciplines of planning, programming, branding and facility management with cohesive, comforting interior design. She is especially invested in understanding the unique needs of all users – patients, visitors, providers and staff – in their healthcare settings, and how the built environment can influence their experiences in order to achieve positive outcomes.

Jocelyn has presented extensively at conferences, such as Healthcare Design, ASHE PDC, the Center for Health Design Pebble Partner Forum and the Healthcare Symposium. Her projects have been received awards from the American Institute of Architects, IIDA, Modern Healthcare and Contract Magazine.  In 2018, Healthcare Design Magazine recognized her as an outstanding member of the industry with their HCD10 Award for Interior Design. She was recognized as the 2022 ASID Designer of Distinction.  Most recently, she has presented and published articles on the design and operational impact of pandemics and biophilia in the work environment.

Jocelyn is a Founding Member of the American Academy of Healthcare Interior Designers, where she served as the President of the Board of Directors from 2011 – 2013.  She is an Evidence-Based Design Accredited Professional (EDAC) with the Center for Health Design and had served as a member of Healthcare Design Magazine’s Editorial Advisory Board. She received her bachelor’s degree in Interior Design from The University of Tennessee.
