Wanda Hailey McLarty graduated with a Bachelor of Interior Design and began her career in New Orleans, LA with an architectural firm. She became a partner with Girod-Hailey Inc., a corporate award winning interior design firm, before moving to Dallas, TX. She began her 40+ year career in healthcare with Healthcare Environment Design (HED), the architectural / interior design division of Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, TX. She was responsible for overseeing management of Interior Design projects, including space planning, finishes, furnishings, artwork, equipment and wayfinding. She rose to Associate Director of Interior Design managing projects and staff. She focused on acute care, outpatient and ambulatory facilities, wellness centers and medical offices throughout the US and Mexico. In addition to eight campuses of Baylor University Medical Center in the North Texas Region, other significant projects that she managed included four campuses of the largest regional healthcare system in North Louisiana, Willis-Knighton Health System in Shreveport, LA. Anticipating the sale of HED, she began her interior design corporation, Hailey Design Interiors, and continued to expand her knowledge of healthcare with residential and senior living. Hailey Design Interiors merged with an award winning architectural firm, Rees Associates, Inc. in Dallas TX where she was promoted to Senior Associate and worked on projects in the healthcare and senior living divisions. After moving to Bossier City, LA she relocated Hailey Design Interiors and continued her 30 year working relationship with the Willis-Knighton Health System which expanded to include a fifth campus of assisted and senior living. She has been involved in the design of over 30 million square feet since specializing in healthcare interiors for over 30 years.
Ms. McLarty is NCIDQ certified, a registered Interior Designer in the states of Louisiana and Texas and also certified (CHID) by the American Academy of Healthcare Interior Designers (AAHID) and a member of AAHID and ASID. She has served many offices and on a number of boards of ASID and is the recipient of several interior design awards and published articles.
