The Interior Design Educators Council invites its partner organizations to spread the word about a service available to prospective interior design educators who come from practice careers.
IDEA-Line offers an opportunity for design practitioners interested in teaching positions to contact experienced IDEC members who bring a wealth of knowledge from the academic field. Those interested in speaking with an IDEC volunteer fill out a form in the Career Center section of the IDEC website. This form is used to link the practitioner with an advisor who will follow-up and contact them directly to address their specific questions about the path to a career in interior design education. The IDEC Career Center also offers useful resources and information regarding descriptions of typical academic programs and faculty positions that can be accessed at any time.
To those professional partners willing to help advertise this service, the following is copy suitable for websites or trade periodicals that provides orientation for these persons: “Thinking about making the transition from practice to teaching? Would you like more information to guide your decision? The Interior Design Educators Council would like to help. Visit the IDEC website for information about the academic community and to be connected with a seasoned professional to answer your questions.”
The mission of The Interior Design Educators Council, Inc. is the advancement of interior design education, scholarship, and service. For more information, visit the Career Center on the IDEC website.
