Amy H. Lopez is AAHID's Past President. In November 2014, Amy joined McCoy Rockford Inc. as the Executive Vice President of Sales and Design for the Houston Furniture Division. McCoy-Rockford Inc. is Texas’ largest single source provider of commercial interior products and services for commercial furniture, flooring and architectural solutions with locations in Houston and Austin, Texas. In her role as the EVP, she is responsible for managing, training and developing the Houston Furniture Division Sales and Design staff. Her team is comprised of 20+ professional sales executives in the Houston market and 20+ designers that are located in the US and Philippines. Overall responsibilities also include participating in company leadership and strategic planning, continual business process improvement, divisional financial performance, organizational development, development and maintaining high quality vendor relationships. She is also serving as the executive sponsor for key accounts and ensuring that all of McCoy’s resources work together to provide the clients with an exceptional workplace solutions experience. Previously, Amy was as Vice President and Shareholder for Smith Seckman Reid, Inc. (SSR,) an engineering design and facility consulting firm with over 500 employees in 15 offices nationwide. Her area of expertise was Project Management and Client Development. Her role as a Senior PM included managing a full team of facility engineering consultants in the healthcare, higher education, and science and technology markets. Her responsibilities in Client Development included maintaining and expanding a market presence for SSR in healthcare and higher education markets across the United States. From 1995-2011, Amy was a Principal and Shareholder of WHR Architects Inc., located in Houston, Texas. She practiced as an interior designer and project manager, served as the Principal in Charge (PIC) of the Interior Studio, and expanded her role into PIC of WHR Business Development/Marketing. Amy also served as a corporate leader within the firm. She was an elected member of the WHR Board of Directors for five years and was involved in the strategic planning, governance planning, and operational planning for the firm. Amy holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Interior Design from Purdue University and is a registered Interior Designer in the state of Texas. She also holds a Certificate in the Executive Management Program from Rice University. She was one of the 50 founding members of the American Association of Healthcare Interior Designers (AAHID). She has also been actively involved with International Interior Design Association (IIDA) on the local, regional, and international levels. Amy most recently co-chaired the highly recognized IIDA Leaders Breakfast in Houston in 2009 and 2010 and served on the 2014 committee. Amy was also recognized in 2004 as one of IIDA’s Top Ten to Watch in the Interior Design industry. Amy has been engaged as a volunteer for numerous community service projects including Center for Houston’s Future Business/Civic Leadership Forum in 2011. She was involved in Sugar Land Little League, serving on the Board of Directors for 8 years and is now the current  PTO President for Sugar Land Middle School. Amy is happily married and a mother of three very active and entertaining boys.
